Terms of Service

Effective date: October 13, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Bumpstart LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Bumpstart", "we", "us") for your use of Bumpstart. By creating an account or using Bumpstart, you agree to them. If you use Bumpstart for a business, you agree on that business's behalf and confirm you're allowed to.

1. The service

Bumpstart is shop management software: work orders, flips, inventory, invoicing, reports and related tools, used in a web browser or our apps. We may improve, change or retire features over time.

2. Accounts and shops

  • You must give accurate information and keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
  • A shop (organization) is managed by its owner, who invites members and decides their roles. The shop owner is responsible for who has access and what they can do.
  • Tell us promptly at support@bumpstart.app if you think your account has been compromised.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or use Bumpstart to store or send unlawful content;
  • try to access another shop's data, or get around security or plan limits;
  • disrupt the service, overload it, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our permission;
  • resell or copy the service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.

4. Plans, billing and cancellation

  • Bumpstart has a free plan and paid plans. What each plan includes is shown in the app before you subscribe.
  • Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time from Billing in the app. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and isn't renewed after that.
  • Monthly plans are not refunded: when you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the month you've paid for. Annual plans can be refunded for the unused whole months: ask us at support@bumpstart.app and we'll cancel the plan and refund those months. Otherwise, fees are non-refundable except where the law requires.
  • If we change a paid plan's price, we'll tell you in advance, and the change applies from your next billing period.
  • Prices don't include taxes unless stated.

5. Your data

  • Your shop owns its data. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Bumpstart to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You're responsible for having the right to enter the information you put into Bumpstart, including your customers' details.
  • When you ask us for help in the app, our support team may ask to see your shop the way you see it. We never do so without your permission: nothing is shown to us until you choose Allow, and you can end the session at any time. A session is view only, so we can't change anything. Passwords, connection keys and payment details are never shown to us, and customers' contact details are partly hidden on your contact list; everything else we see as you do. Each session is recorded, and a summary is emailed to your shop's owners when it ends. See the Privacy Policy for what we can and can't see.
  • You can ask for a copy of your shop's data at any time while your account is active. After your account is closed, data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy and on Delete your account.

6. Text messages and calls

Bumpstart lets your shop text its customers and receive their texts and calls on a Bumpstart phone number. Messages and calls are carried by Telnyx and the mobile carriers. If your shop uses texting, you agree that:

  • you'll text only customers who have agreed to receive your texts, and only about the things they agreed to (such as updates about their jobs, estimates and pickup reminders), as your shop's registered texting program describes;
  • a customer who replies STOP isn't texted again unless they opt back in. Bumpstart records a STOP and blocks further texts to that number from your shop, and you won't try to get around that;
  • the business details you give for texting registration are accurate. The carriers review them, and your shop's texting can be suspended if they're wrong or if the carriers' rules are broken;
  • you won't use Bumpstart to send spam, marketing your customers didn't agree to, or any content the carriers or Telnyx prohibit, and you'll follow the laws that apply to text messages, such as the TCPA.

When your shop registers for texting, Bumpstart publishes a text message terms and privacy page for it, which its registration links to and which describes your shop's texting program.

Text messages from Bumpstart

Bumpstart LLC texts the people who use Bumpstart about their own support requests, from Bumpstart's support number. These are separate from any texts your shop sends its customers.

  • What we text: replies and updates about a support request you made to us, such as an answer to your question, a follow-up, or a note that we'll call you back. When you add your mobile number, we also text you a one-time code to confirm it. We don't send marketing texts.
  • How you agree: in the Bumpstart app, open Profile, enter your mobile number and tick the box that reads: "Bumpstart may text you about your support requests. Msg freq varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. We won't share your mobile number with third parties for marketing." The box is never ticked for you. Links to these Terms and our Privacy Policy sit under it. We then text a code to that number, and your agreement takes effect only when you enter the code in the app; we then text you once to confirm. Agreeing isn't a condition of using Bumpstart; without it, we reach you by email.
  • How often: message frequency varies with your support requests.
  • Cost: message and data rates may apply.
  • Stopping and help: reply STOP to any text from us to stop receiving them, or turn support texts off in your Profile. Reply HELP for help, or email support@bumpstart.app.
  • Your number: we use it only to text you about your support requests. Mobile numbers and consent to receive text messages are never shared, sold or rented to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

If your shop uses the AI receptionist, callers are answered by an AI voice agent, which tells them at the start that it is the shop's AI assistant and that the call is recorded. The call is recorded and transcribed; the recording and transcript are deleted after 90 days. You're responsible for any notice or consent the law requires where your callers are. Your use of texting and calls is also subject to Telnyx's Acceptable Use Policy. Our Privacy Policy describes what's shared with Telnyx and ElevenLabs.

7. Taking payments from your customers

Payment processing services for shops on Bumpstart are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By agreeing to these terms or continuing to operate as a shop on Bumpstart, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as the same may be modified by Stripe from time to time. As a condition of Bumpstart enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide Bumpstart accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize Bumpstart to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe.

  • Your shop is the merchant of record for the payments it takes, with its own Stripe account, and pays Stripe's fees.
  • Bumpstart adds its own fee to each payment your shop takes through Bumpstart. The fee depends on your plan and how the customer pays, and is shown in the app (Settings › Payments) before you turn payments on.
  • Refunds, disputes and chargebacks are between your shop, your customer and Stripe, under the Stripe Services Agreement.

8. QuickBooks and other connected services

  • If you connect your shop's QuickBooks Online company, you authorize Bumpstart to send your invoices, payments, purchases, expenses and parts costs to it and to read back the accounts, customers, suppliers, payments, bills and reports Bumpstart uses. Your QuickBooks company stays yours, under Intuit's terms; what Bumpstart sent stays there if you disconnect. You're responsible for your books, and for checking what Bumpstart posts to them.
  • Your use of a service Bumpstart connects to (Stripe, Telnyx, Intuit and the others named in our Privacy Policy) is also governed by that service's own terms. We aren't responsible for a provider's outages or for changes it makes to its service.

9. AI features

Ratchet, the in-app assistant, its answers about your shop's records, the AI receptionist and call summaries are generated by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete, so check figures and details that matter before you rely on them. Ratchet only reads your shop's records; it never changes them. The AI receptionist answers calls for your shop, takes messages and transfers calls as you set it up, and you're responsible for what you set it up to tell your callers.

10. Availability

We work to keep Bumpstart available and your data safe, but we can't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose, such as invoices you've issued.

11. Disclaimers

Bumpstart is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Figures Bumpstart calculates, such as profit, margins and mileage, are tools to help you run your shop, not financial, tax or legal advice.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Bumpstart is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

13. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Bumpstart and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or doesn't pay, and we'll give notice where reasonable. If we ever discontinue Bumpstart, we'll give you notice and a chance to export your data.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of Aransas County, Texas.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell shop owners by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Bumpstart after that means you accept the new terms.
