Delete your account
You can delete your Bumpstart account and data at any time: yourself, in the app, or by asking us, without installing the app.
Delete it yourself in the app
- Sign in to Bumpstart and open Profile.
- Under Delete Account, choose Delete My Account.
- Type your email address and enter the code we email you to confirm.
Your account is deleted immediately. If you're the only Owner of a shop that has other members, make another member an Owner first, or delete the shop from Settings.
Or ask us by email
- Email support@bumpstart.app from the email address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my account".
- We'll reply to confirm it's really you and to check what you want deleted.
- Once confirmed, we delete your account within 30 days and email you when it's done.
Your account versus your shop
Deleting your account and deleting your shop's data aren't always the same thing:
- If you're the only member of your shop, deleting your account also deletes the shop and everything in it: contacts, machines, work orders, flips, inventory, invoices, expenses, photos and settings.
- If your shop has other members, only your account and your membership are deleted. The shop and its records stay, because they belong to the shop and the rest of the team still uses them. If you own the shop and want it deleted too, say so in your email; we'll check with you first, because it removes the data for everyone in it.
What's deleted and what's kept
- Deleted: your name, email address, password or Google sign-in link, sign-in sessions and pending invitations, plus the shop's data where the shop is deleted too.
- Kept for a limited time: database backups, for up to 30 days, after which they're overwritten; and server logs, for up to 30 days.
- Kept where the law requires: billing records for a paid subscription, held by us and by Stripe for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
A paid subscription is cancelled when its shop is deleted. Before asking, you may want to save copies of invoices you've issued: your shop may need them for its own records.
